Every successful group or organisation has a brand name, logo and a 'catchy' slogan that stands out and is recognizable by others. It makes one's brand, club or society stand out. The use of promotional products is one way to market your club or beginners' programs. A successful merchandise item helps to promote what’s great about square dancing. Our Growing Squares is an example of what can be achieved. The concept can be applied to beginning programs, national, state and club levels.

Slogans or Tag Lines

A slogan is a catchy phrase or series of words used to help potential dancers remember a club's, brand or dancing program. Clubs or societies should create slogans to use in various marketing efforts in the hope that the phrases will stick in people's minds. The slogans or catch phrases used by Growing Squares include Discover a great dance experience and For the time of your life helped to summarize our mission and what we offered. Tag lines are designed to be catchy, clever or even controversial to distinguish them from the tag lines or slogans used by others and to make them more memorable.
Creating a Branding Identity
It is important to create a brand that existing and potential dancers can identity with. A brand is an identifying symbol, mark, logo, name, word, and/or sentence that square dance use to distinguish themselves from others. However, remember that a common element used by everyone as part of their brand (e.g. Logo) will enhance the wider dance community. The Growing Squares Team used the common universal symbol in its logo.
